In a sentence, if the letter L occurs as the first letter of both the indirect object pronoun (le, les) and the direct object pronoun (lo, las, los, las), the indirect object pronoun is changed to se.

     le lo ---> se lo
Juan se lo dio.
      John gave it to her.

     le los ---> se los
Nosotros se los dimos.
      We gave it to them.

     te lo ---> te lo
Yo te lo di.
      I gave it to you.

     le la ---> se la
Se la dio.
      He gave it to her.
