Overview

An idiom is a word or expression whose meaning cannot be completely understood solely from the words used. Attempting to translate an idiomatic expression word for word will result in confusion. Let's look at some examples:

Lo haría por tu bien.
She would do it for your own good.

Quien calla, otorga.
One who is silent gives consent.

no servir para nada
good for nothing

mañana por la mañana
tomorrow morning

no comprendo nada
that puzzles me
