Overview

Continuative conjunctions belong to the subordinate conjunctions. The subordinate sentence gives us an idea of continuation. A few examples are: pues, además, así pues, así que, etc.

Let's look at some example sentences.

El arroz es un alimento nutritivo y, además bajo en calorías.
Rice is a nutritious food, and also, low in calories.

Jaime es más listo que David y, además no es tan flojo.
Jaime is smarter than David and also, he's not so lazy.

Así que no llegó cuando se supuso que llegaba.
So he didn't arrive when he was supposed to arrive.

Pues tú habrás madurado.
Well, you would have grown up by then.

Pues yo tengo que ir para hacerme una permanente.
Well, I have to go to get a perm.
