Overview

Use yo estoy to describe how you feel at the moment.
Yo estoy means I am when you talk about a temporary condition.

An o ending usually refers to male/masculine.
An a ending usually refers to female/feminine.

Yo estoy muy contento. (masculine)
Yo estoy muy contenta. (feminine)
     I'm very happy.

Yo estoy cansado. (masculine)
Yo estoy cansada. (feminine)
     I'm tired.

Yo estoy aburrido. (masculine)
Yo estoy aburrida. (feminine)
     I'm bored.

Yo estoy preocupado. (masculine)
Yo estoy preocupada. (feminine)
     I'm worried.

Yo estoy emocionado. (masculine)
Yo estoy emocionada. (feminine)
     I’m excited.

Yo estoy resfriado. (masculine)
Yo estoy resfriada. (feminine)
     I have a cold.

The expressions below are used for both masculine and feminine.

Yo estoy muy mal.
     I'm very sick.

Yo estoy feliz.
     I’m happy.
