Overview

The verb estar has many uses! We already know that estar is used to talk about something that is changeable or is a departure from the norm, such as feelings or weather.

Yo estoy enfermo.
     I am sick.
Está muy húmedo.
     It's very humid.

Estar is commonly used to talk about location, either permanent or changeable.

Ella está en casa.
     She is at home.
Él está en la cama.
     He is in the bed.
Él está en la escuela.
     He is in the school.
Él está en el supermercado.
     He is in the supermarket.
Ella está en la cafetería.
     She is in the cafeteria.
